PRAYER FOR A DECEASED ELDERLY PERSON (In memory of my aunt - TC)

God of mercy,
look kindly on Your servant (Name)
who has set down the burden of his/her years.
As he/she served You faithfully throughout his/her life,
may You give him/her the fullness of Your peace and joy.
We give thanks for the long life of (Name),
now caught up in Your eternal love.
We make our prayer in the Name of Jesus,
Who is our risen Lord now and forever.

Prayer for Strength and Energy

My Lord and my strength, I pray that I may possess that expectancy which comes in joyous hope and have the endurance that is controlled by courage and energy. Grant in the future that I may be less concerned about my living and more anxious for what I make of my life.

Gracious Father, try me again by the courage I have today, if thou art judging me by the fear I held yesterday. Help me to see that wavering is misleading and temperament is deceptive. May I learn self-control.

Thanks Giving Prayer

Thank you God for all the wonderful blessings,
For our daily meals, for clean drinking water,
For sunlight and for the cool breeze.
I'm thankful for my family, my husband, my friends, and my health.
I'm thankful for my friends, to love and be loved and for freedom.
I'm thankful to be employed;
I'm thankful to be alive and praise you for all these wonders.
I'm thankful that you have been so gracious
To give your only Son to us
Who gave his life and bore the Unbearable
For us sinners.
On this Thanksgiving Day, I take the Opportunity to thank for countless other
things you provide us with on a daily basis.

Lead me to be sensitive to others

Lord our God,
you have made me in your own likeness
and you love all that you have made.

I thank you
for all that has been positive in my life.



I ask that I may live in such a way
that I may learn
from whatever I may find
is negative or hurtful in my life.



May my disabilities and weaknesses
teach me how to be sensitive to individuals,
that I may grow more caring and compassionate
for others who experience difficulties.



May I grow in strength of character
through all that happens to me,
living fully each day.

Prayer for Purity

Jesus, Lover of chastity, Mary, Mother most pure, and Joseph, chaste guardian of the Virgin, to you I come at this hour, begging you to plead with God for me. I earnestly wish to be pure in thought, word and deed in imitation of your own holy purity.

Obtain for me, then, a deep sense of modesty which will be reflected in my external conduct. Protect my eyes, the windows of my soul, from anything that might dim the luster of a heart that must mirror only Christlike purity.

And when the "Bread of Angels becomes the Bread of me" in my heart at Holy Communion, seal it forever against the suggestions of sinful pleasures.

Heart of Jesus, Fount of all purity, have mercy on us.

The grasp of your hand in my failure

Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers
but to be fearless in facing them.
Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain,
but for the heart to conquer it.
Let me not crave in anxious fear to be saved,
but hope for the patience to win my freedom.
Grant me that I may not be a coward,
feeling your mercy in my success alone,
but let me find the grasp of your hand
in my failure.

An evening prayer

O Lord my God,
thank you for bringing this day to a close.
Thank you for giving me rest
in body and soul.
Your hand has been over me
and has guarded and preserved me.
Forgive my lack of faith
and any wrong that I have done today,
and help me to forgive all who have wronged us.
Let me sleep in peace under your protection,
and keep me from all the temptations of darkness.
Into your hands I commend my loved ones.
I commend to you my body and soul.
O God, your holy name be praised.

Prayer of Protection

Father, I thank You for what You for Your hand of protection upon my family, friends and myself for this coming New Year. Father, in the Name of Jesus, I thank You that You watch over Your Word to perform it. I thank You that my family, friends and I dwell in the secret place of the Most High and that we remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty, Whose power no foe can withstand. I cover my family, friends and I with the Precious Blood of Jesus, Your Son, thus keeping us safe from the hideous snares of Satan and all his cohorts.

Father, You are our refuge and our fortress. No evil shall befall us - no accident shall overtake us nor shall any plague or calamity come near my home. I release ministering angels to go forth and to encompass over my family, friends and myself, to accompany and defend and preserve us in all our ways of obedience and service. They are encamped around about us. I bind the devil from trying to influence them in any way this holiday. Shelter us in the palm of Your hand and save our homes from all storms.Keep us close to Your Heart.

Father, You are our confidence, firm and strong. You keep our feet from being caught in a trap or hidden danger. When we lie down, You will give my family, friends and myself peaceful sleep. Father, You give this family safety and ease us - Jesus is our safety! In Jesus Name, AMEN

Visit, Lord, we pray, this place
and drive far from it all the snares of the enemy.
Let your holy angels dwell here to keep us in peace,
and may your blessing be upon it evermore;
